Women’s Program Report - Dec 2022 Update:
The Women in Model Railroading (WIMRR) SIG group had a Zoom meeting on December 9, 2022 to share more information about themselves and share some special experiences that involved trains and Christmas. There were 23 people who attended, including 6 men. Everyone who attended introduced themselves and explained what they were involved in with the model railroading hobby. There are going to be a couple get-togethers this coming year. They will be listed on the website shortly. They also are going to start creating a newsletter which will be published 3 times a year, and are looking for articles for it. We also talked about ways that each Region/Division to help promote model railroading at Christmas, and one of the suggestions was to purchase 1 or more Christmas train sets and donate them to nursing homes and set them up for them.
This would bring a lot of joy to all of the people, especially those who don’t have anyone to share their Christmas with. Our next Zoom meeting will be in March. Women interested in model railroading, and wanting to join can go to the SIG’s webpage
